Installation Guide for Pipe Support and Fastening

Installation Guide for Pipe Support and Fastening

Fastening systems for wastewater pipes must utilize appropriate brackets, clamps, or hangers to ensure proper support and noise isolation when connecting to building structures. Correct fastening maintains alignment and slope of the pipes and prevents loosening due to vibration or thermal expansion. Brackets must be selected to bear the weight of the pipe, including its content, and to isolate vibrations. Use of flexible soundproof brackets is recommended, particularly in multi-floor buildings. To reduce structure-borne noise, the fastening system must avoid direct transmission of vibration into the building structure.

Execution Notes for Fixing and Fastening

  1. Pipes and their supports must be anchored securely using wall plugs or chemical anchors.
  2. Avoid placing supports directly on insulation or soft material. They should be mounted on stable parts of the structure.
  3. For vertical and horizontal pipes, spacing of supports must follow the manufacturer’s technical guide.
  4. Use vibration-isolating clamps or anti-vibration rubber gaskets for fastening brackets.
  5. Where horizontal pipes turn vertically or change direction, additional support must be added to prevent stress.
  6. If using threaded rods (M10 or M12), ensure the length and tightening is proper and corrosion-resistant materials are used.
  7. In ceiling-mounted systems, alignment and slope must be checked frequently to avoid sagging.
  8. A slope of at least 2 cm/m must be ensured in horizontal runs.
  9. Use 45° bends in two steps (22.5° + 22.5°) instead of sharp 90° elbows to reduce flow noise and resistance.
  10. Increase vertical clearance between pipe and ceiling to more than 2 cm wherever possible.
